Seasonal Experience (January to March)

Every year, nature stages one of its most extraordinary performances just off the Dominican coast. From January to March, majestic humpback whales migrate to our warm Caribbean waters to mate, give birth, and nurture their calves. This half-day whale-watching experience invites you to witness that rare and powerful moment firsthand.

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from your hotel, crossing the untouched landscapes of the eastern plains toward the charming fishing village of Las Cañitas, Miches. The route itself sets the tone: open horizons, rural beauty, and the feeling of stepping away from the ordinary.

Upon arrival at the pier of Las Cañitas, you will board a comfortable boat and head toward the Humpback Whale Sanctuary, one of the most important breeding areas in the North Atlantic. For approximately two and a half hours, you will navigate these protected waters in search of whales — watching for powerful breaches, graceful tail dives, and unforgettable encounters between mothers and calves.

This is not a zoo. This is nature, unscripted and breathtaking. Every sighting feels earned, intimate, and deeply moving.

A certified guide accompanies you throughout the experience, sharing insights about whale behavior, migration patterns, and conservation efforts, enriching every moment with meaning and context.

After the observation period, you will return to the pier and begin the journey back to your hotel, carrying memories that will stay with you long after the day ends.
